BIO

Amy Lewis Bear is a psychotherapist in private practice who has spent the past sixteen years treating survivors of relationship abuse. Through her work, she has helped countless individuals reclaim their sense of self and find clarity after emotional harm. Her PsychologyToday.com blog, “From Charm to Harm”, is read in over twenty countries, and her YouTube videos continue to reach those searching for comfort and answers to their relationship questions.

She’s the author of “From Charm to Harm: The Guide to Spotting, Naming, and Stopping Emotional Abuse in Intimate Relationships”, and her second book, “When Loving You Means Losing Me”, is due to be released in 2026. Both books reflect her mission to expand awareness of emotional abuse and to shed light on the often-hidden struggle of losing one's sense-of-self in intimate relationships.

Amy has been interviewed on major market talk shows across the U.S., including appearances on KNXV-ABC’s “Sonoran Living” (Phoenix), CBS-Warner’s “San Diego Living”, and “Virginia This Morning” on WTVR-TV in Richmond.

When she’s not with clients or writing, Amy loves hiking with her husband along the Chattahoochee River or exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains near their home in Atlanta. A lifelong book lover, she has a soft spot for archaeology, paleontology, and gripping stories of real-life escapes. She's also a passionate traveler with a deep appreciation for French language and culture. But above all, Amy treasures time spent with family and close friends—the relationships that keep her grounded and inspired.
