Greg Schicker-Taubman
BIO
Believing that imagination is the wellspring of empathy, Greg Schicker-Taubman is forever investigating the creative process and its power to engender and deliver a communal sense of meaning. He specializes in weaving ancient and modern traditions together with contemporary values, crafting texts, images, and events rich in metaphorical density—most recently in The Shakespeare Tarot: A Deck and Guidebook of the Bard’s Arcana.
As a freelance theater director and dramaturg, Greg has collaborated with institutions across the country including The Public Theater, Classic Stage Company, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and Theater of War. His Greek and Latin translations have appeared in Heather Christian’s Oratorio for Living Things, The Public Theater’s Bacchae, Extant Arts’ Antigone/Progeny, and JoAnne Akalaitis’ Bad News! i was there…
Greg serves as Co-Founder and Partner at FORGE, a boutique consultancy and artist service organization. He holds a BA in Classics from Princeton and an MFA in Directing from Columbia and lives with his wife in Brooklyn, NY.
